When it comes to personality, Zachary Levi has plenty to go around, and when you can’t reveal plot details to fans about the sequel to 2019’s Shazam!, be your adorable self to fill eight minutes of a DC Fandome panel.
Eventually, the rest of the cast joined in on the fun, including Asher Angel, Faith Herman, Jack Dylan Grazer, Meagan Good, and Adam Brody. The cast joked about not telling us about DC cameos to expect and which villain (or villains plural?) would be featured. Angel asked if maybe they can be CGI-ed into the Zack Snyder Justice League cut, which segued into Levi quipping about his own “Zac cut” and the introduction of the film’s director David F. Sandberg.
Another surprise guest on the panel was Sinbad. Levi, confused, asked if the comedian was going to be in the sequel.
“You tell me, John Krasinski, am I?” Sinbad asked. “Because I thought I was in Shazam 1 before it even existed. Google it. I’m number three on the Mandela list.”
FYI: Sinbad was in 1996’s Kazaam, not Shazam! Yet we all remember him playing a genie in a much different movie…
The biggest (and most serious) reveal is the title of the upcoming sequel. Look for Shazam! Fury of the Gods in 2022.
Sinbad closed it out with “Starring Sinbad! Finally.”
