DC Comics bring news that Grant Morrison and Yanick Paquette’s Wonder Woman Earth One saga will be completed with a third and final volume, coming in 2021.
“Diana, now queen of the Amazons, must assemble the disparate Amazonian tribes for the first time in a millennium. Max Lord’s assault on Paradise Island with his destructive A.R.E.S. armors is on the horizon, and in order to weather the war that is coming, Wonder Woman will need the full might of her sisters by her side! Can Diana finally bring her message of peace to Man’s World, or will Max Lord’s war burn the world and the Amazons to ashes?”
Out on March 9th 2021, I wonder if this book may well mark the slow down of this particular project at DC Comics? After all, these graphic novels seem to come out so infrequently that there never felt like any sustained momentum ever built up around these titles.
The last Superman Earth One volume came out in 2015. And while there as a recent edition of Green Lantern Earth One back in August, after over a decade of publishing, the whole output still amounts to a very small amount of graphic novels. I can’t imagine new DC Comics’ bosses AT&T to be too keen to keep this arm of their publication open, Not with DC Black Label being teen obvious new hoe for such ‘alternative universe’ stories.
So, why not go out on a high note with this critic-proof graphic novel?
