The recently announced Heroes Reborn just got a bit more epic as Marvel Comics has revealed a series of connecting covers by Leinil Francis Yu. Fans collecting all four issues of the series written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Ed McGuinness will get a pretty cool image when they’re put together. Heroes Reborn looks at a strange new world without the Avengers where the Squadron Supreme rises up to take the place of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. What does that mean for the likes of Tony Stark, Peter Parker, and Carol Danvers?
“Maybe the wildest story I’ve ever put on paper,” Aaron said of his latest Marvel saga. “I got to cut loose on this and release my inner comic-reared child in a really profound way, and together with a cadre of immensely imaginative artists, we built a world that I’m pretty confident in saying is quite unlike any version of the Marvel Universe you’ve seen before. It grew out of the pages of my Avengers run, but kept getting bigger and bigger as it went, and the more pieces I put in place for this Reborn world, the more gleeful and excited I became. This project really stoked the fires of my love for comics in all the right ways.”
Heroes Reborn kicks off in May 2021. While McGuinness handles the artwork for the first issue, he’s joined by Dale Keown for issue #2, Federico Vicentini in issue #3, and James Stokoe in issue #4.
