Runaways returns today with issue #33 from writer Rainbow Rowell and artist Andres Genolet. Kicking off a new story arc, the ragtag group of reluctant “super heroes” are heading to one of the most terrifying areas of the Marvel Universe: High School. That’s not all this group of outsiders has to deal with. They also have a run-in with Wolverine and Pixie from the X-Men. Check out a trailer for the issue below featuring never-before-seen artwork.
“We left the Runaways in such a precarious position after they defeated Doc Justice. I’m really excited for readers to see how the kids move forward. How they deal with the fallout,” Rowell said. “And I’m grateful for everyone who has stuck with this story. We never expected to leave readers hanging on a cliff through a global pandemic!”
“Sorry, Immortal Hulk. Sorry, House of X/Powers of X. Sorry, Daredevil. Rainbow Rowell & Andrés Genolet’s Runaways is the best book in comics and IT’S BACK, BABY!” Editor Nick Lowe said. “The runners are back and the best arc yet is kicking off tomorrow. Are the X-Men going to take Molly to Krakoa? And that’s not even the most crazy thing that’s happening as we MARCH TO LGY #100!!!!”
After seeing stuff like this, it’s clear I’m missing out with Runaways and desperately need to catch up on the series. It’s been awhile since I’ve read it and it definitely looks like a book that’s right up my alley. Runaways #33 is in comic shops and digital through ComiXology and Amazon Kindle today.
