Because we didn’t have enough loose ends in Amazing Spider-Man, writer Nick Spencer is adding some more this June with “The Chameleon Conspiracy.” This new storyline spins out of the web-head’s fight with Kingpin in May’s Giant-Size Amazing Spider-Man: King’s Ransom #1. Amazing Spider-Man #67 kicks off this new arc, running through issue #69, illustrated by Marcelo Ferreira, and concluding in Giant-Size Amazing Spider-Man: Chameleon Conspiracy #1 with art by Carlos Gomez. All four parts will drop in June and feature covers by Mark Bagley.
This storyline has the shapeshifting villain known as the Chameleon making the biggest play of his career. Spider-Man must team up with his superspy sister, Teresa Parker to get to the bottom of this dastardly plan. This will pit them against the likes of not just Chameleon, but also The Foreigner, Chance, and Jack O’Lantern.
Remember Kindred? Could we at least wrap up that thread before adding this stuff? Chameleon is no stranger to this volume of Amazing Spider-Man as he popped up a little more than a year ago when Marvel was doing the 2099 event where he almost caused an international incident. I think he’s been in prison since.
