One of the most iconic moments of the Star Wars saga is the arrival of the bounty hunters in Empire Strikes Back. When fans got their first glimpse of them, they realized there’s so much more to the world readers had been immersed in. Now, a new batch of variants revisit that thrilling moment, from one of the most popular Star Wars artists of the modern era.
Superstar artist John Cassaday helped launch the new Marvel era of Star Wars. With the War of the Bounty Hunters, he returns to the franchise with five new interlocking variants across the mini-series from Charles Soule & Luke Ross.
Depicting Boba Fett, IG-88, Bossk, Dengar, 4-LOM, and Zuckuss, the five covers show the six hunters ready for battle, fitting as the group will be at the center of the battle for Han Solo that will draw in the entire Star Wars universe.
“War Of The Bounty Hunters is a story about Boba Fett doing his thing, but it builds into something much bigger, and that’s what the best comic crossovers and big stories do. They tell a great story in and of themselves, but they’re also the start of something, and they open a lot of new doors. And this story will absolutely do that,” Soule told StarWars.com.
Be sure to check out War of the Bounty Hunters when the event kicks off on May 5 with Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 from Marvel Comics.
