Steve Cohen is known as The Millionaires’ Magician, famed for his long-running show, Chamber Magic, and private performances held around the world. For his latest trick, Cohen is partnering with Creation.Ink for an exclusive, limited edition hardcover of his graphic novel The Millionaires’ Magician, now live on Kickstarter.
The graphic novel is by the team of Keith Champagne, Peter Krause, and Jordie Bellaire, working in concert with Steve Cohen to create a truly magical experience. The Millionaires’ Magician stars Cohen and is based on Steve’s life and career, mixing fact and fiction in a dizzying tale of illusion and crime, life and death, tragedy and redemption.
The deluxe edition of The Millionaires’ Magician will be presented as a 128-page hardcover. The graphic novel is already complete, so printing and fulfillment will be fast-tracked at the end of the campaign.
“This comic combines sleight of hand with some serious sleight of fist-in-face,” said Steve Cohen. “Working with top comics artists, I created a dark origin story that explains how a simple magician – me – ended up performing in royal palaces, five-star hotels, super yachts, and private islands. Within this full-length graphic novel, you will find cunning martial arts executed by a master of surprise to take down an international crime organization. Only a magician could think so many steps ahead of his conniving billionaire enemy. Or can he? The fact that I’m alive to tell my story should answer this question, and open up several new ones.”
The Kickstarter campaign, which runs until Aug. 20, has a funding goal of $11,500. Reward tiers in addition to the hardcover graphic novel include a digital edition, a signature series, a limited single comic version, deluxe playing cards, original sketches, an exclusive pocket square, tickets to one of Cohen’s Manhattan performances, and more. A stretch goal of $15,000 unlocks a magical new story by Champagne and artist Neil Edwards. Check out the campaign here.
