Appeal Studios Brings Back ‘Outcast’ Franchise After 20 Years

Appeal Studios’ original Outcast title launched in 1999. Since then, it’s been twenty years without a new game, but Appeal Studios and THQ Nordic are bringing the franchise back now, complete with it’s main character, Cutter Slade.

The game takes place twenty years into the universe’s future, with the alien planet Adelpha under attack by corporations aiming to plunder the planet for all of it’s resources, including the people. The main character will work with the people there to create a resistance force capable of fighting back and clearing out the invaders.

The new game’s Steam page mentions the player will be able to explore this new world, customizing their character’s weapons and abilities while engaging in a “non-linear” sci-fi story.

Outcast 2: A New Beginning is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and PC, but has no release date.
