It’s taking the Legends of Tomorrow quite a few episodes to get to New York. But as this preview for next week’s show reveals, the team will finally meet Dr. Gwyn Davies — Matt Ryan‘s new character who also happens to be the father of time travel. Will their arrival at his lab threaten the timestream or will the disappearance of the Time Bureau and Ava (Jes Macallan) be a temporary set back?
And speaking of setbacks, we were sad to see Spooner’s (Lisseth Chavez) team miss the other Legends by mere hours. That said, we love the adventures she, Astra (Olivia Swann) and Gideon (Amy Pemberton) are experiencing as they play catch-up. This week’s was particularly meaningful for Astra, who continues to learn empathy. We could watch the trio make their own journey for a little bit longer, even though we think the entire group should probably leave the 1920s by winter break.
Meanwhile, we hope Nate (Nick Zano) isn’t really considering breaking up with Zari 1.0 (Tala Ashe). Despite Gary’s (Adam Tsekhman) assessment, they’re one of the better functioning couples in the history of the series. Also, we’d hate to see the original Zari disappear into the totem. Giving Ashe the opportunity to switch between the two Zaris definitely keeps things fresh. Although, we have to say, it certainly feels like Zari 2.0 grew up a great deal in the course of this week’s episode. Could she one day lead the team?
