An Announcement About Tripwire Presents Bristol Comic Con Sept

Still Happening But With A Few Changes

Our first UK comic con under the Tripwire banner is still going ahead but with a few changes…

2022 continues to be a challenge for people putting on comic conventions in the UK and elsewhere. The covid situation is improving but it is still an issue for show organisers and of course since February,we have also had increased inflation and rising prices in everyday items which has had a knock-on effect on everything. So Tripwire Presents Bristol Comic Con is still going ahead in September but owing to a few budgetary and logistical issues, the show is having to change its scale a little. Unfortunately, we are not able to bring Howard Chaykin over for 2022’s event and he has been great about this. He is one of the best, most gracious comic creators out there and we do hope we can get him over for a future event. Of course anyone who has booked tickets specifically to see and meet Mr Chaykin and wants a refund, we are happy to honour this. Also, Italian comic artist Elena Casagrande and Valiant senior editor Lysa Hawkins are not coming to the show this year either as we have had to make some difficult decisions to help to financially balance it to make sure that this will still go ahead. We are planning to announce a couple of new British comic guests over the next couple of months. We had considered putting the show back to next year but we felt it would have been better to put on a show, albeit one which is slightly different from the one we had originally announced. Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner and Brian Stelfreeze are still attending which is very exciting as is Spanish rising superstar artist Jorge Fornes and all of the British talent announced so far are all still coming too. We want to thank everyone who has supported us with this show so far. It will still include the live Tripwire Awards 2022 on the Saturday night, the UK launch of The Tripwire 30th anniversary book (which will be an incredible book), our inaugural cosplay competition and an exhibition of Tripwire editor-in-chief Joel Meadows’ comic creator photos as part of the Tripwire 30th anniversary celebrations.
