Meet Herbert Henry. Just before Christmas, his father lost his job and it sapped the holiday cheer right out of him. Determined to save the season for himself and his family, young Herbert sets out on a trek to hand-deliver his request for help to Santa Claus. Along the way, he will meet will meet colorful friends — from busy elves to a stranded snow bear — and “learn of his own power to help others” may be the way to truly save everyone’s Christmas.
That’s the premise of The Adventures of Herbert Henry: Santa’s Secret Society, the first title in the continuing Herbert Henry series from author Amber Stewart and illustrator Sònia Albert to be published as part of Dynamite Entertainment’s partnership with Curisosity Ink Media Books. The companies announced the book as part of Dynamite’s run-up to Comic-Con International: San Diego on Tuesday. “I am so happy that Herbert Henry, wild and curious as he is, continues his journey into the hearts and minds of child readers in this lovely book,” Stewart said in a statement. “I hope that anyone picking it up will enjoy reading the story as much as I enjoyed writing it and it becomes a Christmas favorite among families.”
Dynamite CEO and Publisher Nick Barrucci added, “At Dynamite, we continue to grow our publishing line, and we’re extremely proud to add this young readers book to the lineup. Most importantly, the book is heartwarming and fun for readers, and full of valuable lessons and themes. We think kids are really going to enjoy it, and parents will be grateful to have it as an option.”
The Adventures of Herbert Henry: Santa’s Secret Society is expected for release later this year.
