Welcome to the table,
I did not have a new Shadowman game on my list of things I thought we were going to see any time soon. Truth be told, watching my friends play the old Shadowman video game was kind of a fond memory. It gave me big Legacy of Kane: Soul Reaver vibes and all those third-person horror platformers
Valiant Entertainment and DMG Entertainment offer fans a truly “spine-tingling experience,” packed with mysticism, dark secrets, and haunting supernatural forces.
Shadowman has long been one of those fan-favorite comic series that seems to ebb and flow into my life over the years. First introduced to readers in 1992, the franchise has remained popular for decades, captivating audiences with its storylines, compelling characters, and eerie setting. Cullen Bunn‘s run on the book was honestly one of the stand-out offerings for me and I honestly can’t wait to see if his fingerprints are on this game.
Now, for the first time since the PlayStation 2 era, players can step into the shoes of Jack Boniface, aka Shadowman, and immerse themselves in an all-new adventure that I’m being told is both “punishing and rewarding.”
As a conspiracy threatens to overrun the land of the living, players must fight back against a host of inhuman entities. This will be no ordinary battle, though. To succeed, players must cross the veil between the living and the dead, traversing the necromantic divide and overcoming all manner of obstacles and terrifying threats.
Shadowman: Darque Legacy is currently scheduled for release in 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, as well as PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
I for one will be more than happy to review the game as soon as I can get my hands on it and will keep you posted on more news about the title as it comes across my desk.
Until next time, If you need me, I’ll be here. Now, go see Jaunty and get them Dark Souls.
