Years ago, my wife sat me down in front of a game cube to play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I had seen it before, I may have even played on a friend’s console one or two times way back when it originally came out, but in this tiny studio apartment sitting next to the coolest person I know, I had this new adventure before me.
I typed in my name “PoopButt” and off we went on an adventure. She, I, and this little forest child made of blocky pixels swinging a sword and screaming like a demon every time he did something. My job became to fight the bosses. She was super skilled at all the puzzles, and knew all the lore, but hated boss fights. So that was how it went. I would tackle the big scary thing head-on and with fearless abandon, and she would take care of the other stuff with logical calm and poise. She really is the best teammate anyone could ever ask for.
Dark Horse Direct has announced another great team with their new Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Statues.
This week saw the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the follow-up to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Dark Horse has released two PVC Statues in the form of a Collector’s Edition of Zelda and Link.
Zelda is highly detailed and cast in a commanding pose with the Sheikah Slate in hand. The design on the base is based on the symbol that initiates when activating the Sheikah Slate interface. The Exclusive Edition of this statue comes with bright LED functions for both the Sheikah Slate and the limited numbered base.
Our unhinged forest child Link is in a dynamic pose wielding the Traveler’s Bow and about to release an Ancient Arrow. On his back is the Traveler’s Shield and the Soldier’s Broadsword, and around his waist is a quiver of arrows and the Sheikah Slate.
The design on the base is based on the Sheikah tribe’s eye symbol that appears when activating the Sheikah Slate interface. The Collector’s Edition of this statue comes with bright LED functions for the Sheikah Slate, the base, and the arrowhead of the Ancient Arrow.
