Saint Seiya is a popular manga from the 1980s and 90s written and illustrated by Masami Kurumada. It has received animated adaptations for both television and film. Today, a live-action movie based off of the series is set to hit theaters. It is directed by Tomek Baginski with a screenplay from Josh Campbell, Matt Stuecken, and Kiel Murray.
Knights of the Zodiac follows a determined young street tough named Seiya. He makes a living fighting for cash while he searches for his kidnapped sister. One day, he discovers he possesses mystical powers and is embroiled in a much larger conflict involving saints at war with each other and a reincarnated goddess he must protect. Now, Seiya must embrace his destiny and train to become one of the titular Knights of the Zodiac.
At WonderCon 2023, Knights of the Zodiac was present with a panel to promoting the film’s release. Attending were producer Yoshi Ikezawa and several members of the cast. Unfortunately Seiya himself, Mackenyu, was unable to be there in person, but he contributed a message for the audience played at the beginning of the panel. Afterwards, the actors held a special signing on the exhibit floor. Lucky attendees were able to meet Famke Janssen (Guraad), Madison Iseman (Sienna/Athena), Diego Tinoco (Nero the Phoenix Knight), Mark Dacascos (Mylock), and Nick Stahl (Cassios). They were all very friendly and couldn’t be more appreciative of their fans.
Here’s the promotional poster with the casts’ autographs.
