Hot off their announcement about a new collection of Rom the Spaceknight’s adventures, Marvel has announced that The Micronauts will have an omnibus printed in April 2024. Additionally, a facsimile edition of The Micronauts #1 from 1979 will be available this September.
Set in the regular Marvel universe, the Micronauts joined forces with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four and fought familiar villains such as Doctor Doom and Arcade. In the series, Commander Rann, Princess Mari, Biotron, Acroyear and Bug traverse the universe aboard the microship Endeavor as they struggle to free Homeworld from the tyrannical Baron Karza. Their exploits also bring them to Earth where they encounter regular-sized heroes including the Fantastic Four, S.H.I.E.L.D., Captain Universe and Man-Thing.
The tiny heroes were written by industry legend Bill Mantlo, drawn by Michael Golden and will be reprinted for the first time ever. Micronauts: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Vol. 1 will collect The Micronauts #1-29 annuals #1 and 2 as well as material from 1983’s Micronauts Special Edition. The minibus will also feature letters pages, house ads and original artwork.
Micronauts #1 Facsimile Edition boldly introduces readers to the team members, how emerge from 1,000 years of suspended animation. Homeworld has changed with Mari’s family was killed in the coup d’état that saw Baron Karza rise to power. Now, together with their allies, they begin their quest to free Homeworld from Karza’s iron grip.
Earlier this week, Marvel announced a similar omnibus with Micronauts contemporary Rom.
